Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week (predominantly office days and early and late shifts, with flexibility as required)

Our client is seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join their 4-bed children’s home, supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities (LD). If you’re a passionate professional with a background in residential childcare, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Supervise and mentor the care team, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure the home is compliant with Ofsted regulations and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for children.
  • Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the home and ensure smooth operation.

Requirements:

  • Level 3/4 qualification in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a children’s residential setting, particularly LD services.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the home.
