Reddbrick are recruiting for a Leading Main Contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects across the West Midlands. Currently, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team and manage projects throughout the region. Experience of Student Accommodation and PRS Projects.
The Estimator will play a key role in the planning and financial management across the companies schemes. This position requires experience in cost planning including measurement from stage 2, 3 and 4 general arrangement drawings to produce builder's quantities and compilation. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to achieve optimal results.
Senior Estimator Responsibilities
- Populating your cost plan to support development appraisals, design solutions, validation of designs and benchmarking will be second nature to you.
- Working on a variety of tendering forms, whilst identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
- Fully engaging with the pre-construction team members will ensure you are supported both by the local Pre-Construction Manager and the wider team at Head Office.
- Tendering and development of Stage 3 and Stage 4 design information into robust sub-contract enquiries for quotation to preparing financial information for settlement meetings at each Gateway stage including Financial Close/Contract Sum.
- Track and report on project costs and financial performance, identifying and addressing any deviations from budget.
- Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value engineering options to optimise project efficiency and quality.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on costs and timelines.
Senior Estimator Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on residential or student accommodation projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple bids and proposals.
