Position 1 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor (Marine) to join our client, a reputable engineering services company. This role is ideal for candidates with mobilisation and calibration of survey equipment experience, including data processing and QA/QC. You will join a friendly project team providing both field data acquisition and office support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilisation and calibration of survey equipment
  • Deployment/recovery and tuning of survey equipment
  • Online data acquisition and QC, daily data backup
  • Collaborating with the team lead and Senior Surveyor/Party Chief to ensure the equipment is safe and operational for ongoing tasks.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day office workload including data processing and QA/QC of data.
  • Continual improvement of company systems and pre-project documentation
  • Working with software packages including – QINSy, PDS2000, POSPac MMS, Trimble Business Centre, Caris HIPS and SIPS, Geosoft Oasis Montaj.

The Junior Hydrographic Surveyor will need to have prior surveying experience and a degree in Surveying, Marine Science, Oceanography, Engineering, or Environmental Science. The ideal candidate will be proficient in software like QINSy, PDS2000, POSPac MMS, Trimble Business Centre, Caris HIPS, and Geosoft Oasis Montaj, with expertise in Multibeam, GNSS, geophysical, and UXO data processing. A strong understanding of tidal theory, acoustic theory, geodesy, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, based at the Great Yarmouth office with travel required.
