Job Specification: Electrical Control Panel Builder
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Location: Basildon, Essex
Reports to: Automation Department Lead
Position Overview: My client are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Control Panel Builder to work alongside the Automation Technicians to design, build, and wire control panels for our electrical control systems. The ideal candidate will be systematic, with excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Automation Department to build, wire, and install electrical control panels.
- Verify panel components against wiring diagrams and control panel layouts.
- Assemble control panel enclosures, including building plinths, assembling bays, and side panels.
- Layout chassis plates in line with panel designs, working closely with Electrical Design Draughtsman.
- Mount and secure components on chassis plates as per design specifications.
- Wire the control panels following issued diagrams in cooperation with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technicians.
- Mark up wiring diagrams once panel wiring is completed and raise any detected errors.
- Cut apertures in control panels for components like fans, filters, and power sockets.
- Work with Automation Installation Electricians to install control panels into filling lines and machinery.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Experience in electrical control panel building and wiring.
- Ability to work with wiring diagrams and control panel layouts.
