WSR is recruiting for a Temp HR Assistant for our esteemed client in Milton Keynes.
Location: Milton Keynes Office based
Hours: 8:15am to 4:15pm Monday to Thursday, 2:15pm finish on a Friday
Pay Rate: £13 to £15 p/h
HR Assistant Job Overview: The HR Assistant in a school is responsible for handling various administrative tasks related to human resources, ensuring smooth HR operations within the institution. They support recruitment, employee records management, payroll assistance, and staff welfare while ensuring compliance with school policies and labour laws.
HR Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in job postings, shortlisting candidates, and scheduling interviews. Prepare offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documents.
- Employee Records & Documentation: Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and personal files. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws. Process leaves, attendance, and staff absences.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Assist in collecting and verifying employee attendance and leave records for payroll processing. Support in coordinating staff benefits like health insurance, pensions, and other entitlements.
- HR Policies & Compliance: Ensure adherence to school policies, employment laws, and regulations.
- General HR Administration: Respond to HR-related inquiries from staff and management. Assist in disciplinary procedures, grievances, and conflict resolution support. Prepare HR reports, letters, and memos as required.
HR Assistant Skills & Qualifications:
- Current DBS Check is preferred
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in HR administration in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of HR policies, labour laws, and payroll procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), HR software. Experience with SIMS Software is beneficial.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
