Hardman Grey Recruitment are currently seeking an Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client. The Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for checking machinery and equipment is running efficiently, performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and checking safety is adhered to.

The Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment and following safety regulations and company policies
  • Repairing pumps, compressors, motors and other equipment
  • Carrying out planned, reactive and preventative maintenance on production machinery to minimise downtime and ensure it is working safely
  • Keeping good records of maintenance and repairs which have been performed
  • Checking and maintaining the spare parts inventory
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems with equipment and following up with a plan to repair
  • Installation and commissioning of mechanical/electrical equipment and production machinery
  • Coordinating with production and operations teams to schedule any required maintenance whilst maintaining or minimising the disruption of production
  • Contributing to improving processes and supporting the implementation of projects which help drive efficiency
  • Creating preventative maintenance programmes in order to ensure downtime and maintenance costs are minimised

The ideal Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer candidate will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering (desired)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desired)
  • A background in the manufacturing industry (ideally food or similar)
  • A strong technical background (such as electrical or mechanical systems e.g. PLC's, pneumatics, HVAC and hydraulics)
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards (BRC, HACCP)
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Basic IT skills to update maintenance information and reporting
