Sutton Recruitment are delighted to be working with another new client on this exciting local opportunity with a reputable HVAC business to recruit a Gas Engineer. Our client, a well-established heating company, provides design, installation and servicing to a wide range of customers, both commercial and domestic. With a long-standing, loyal client base, they approach each project from the client standpoint and look at the entire project lifecycle from installation through to commissioning and service.

Purpose of the role: To maintain, repair and install gas and oil heating systems. As the Gas Engineer, you will provide services to commercial businesses and people in their own homes in order to repair or install appliances that rely on gas to function.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Installing and maintaining gas and oil systems
  • Maintaining and repairing commercial and household gas heating systems, including pipes, valves, metres and gauges
  • Implement health and safety checks
  • Issue gas safety certificates
  • Provide excellent customer service, troubleshooting issues and making sure that they are solved safely and effectively

Job holder will be able to:

  • Provide technical and hands-on experience with gas heating systems
  • Help with maintenance or dealing with any issues
  • Be personable and have great communication skills
  • Put people at ease, working through problems calmly and diligently.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Qualified Gas Engineer.

Educational: Level 3 Diploma or NVQ in Gas Engineering, Domestic and Commercial Gas Qualifications – NG and LPG

Hours: 39 hours per week plus overtime available. Overtime is paid on anything over 39 hours. Travel time is also paid at the relevant rate which applies at that time (e.g. if after the 8 hours it is overtime, if within the 8 hours it is basic). Supervisor rates can be discussed also.

Work will be mainly within the Yorkshire area; however, there will be an element of out of town work on occasions.

Remuneration: Β£19.00 per hour - Β£20.00 per hour

Holiday entitlement – 22 days per annum plus bank holidays

You must hold a full UK Driving License.
