At FSB, we champion small businesses across the UK, providing vital support, expert advice, and market-leading member benefits. Since 1974, we have been the trusted voice for 5.5 million small businesses and the self-employed. Now, we are looking for a motivated Membership Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic Contact Centre team.

A Day in the Life

Every day is different in this role, with a mix of conversations that keep things engaging. You will be speaking with existing members, ensuring they continue to see the value of their membership and securing renewals. At the same time, you will be reaching out to potential new members, following up on previous interest and helping them understand how FSB can support their business. Alongside this, you will handle inbound sales calls, whether from new enquiries looking to join or from members who may be considering leaving, working to find the right solutions for them.

Rather than focusing purely on call volumes, your success will come from maximising every sales opportunity and building genuine relationships. By listening to members and understanding their needs, you will be able to showcase the full range of benefits that FSB offers. Whether it’s expert advice, financial support, or networking opportunities, you will help small business owners see how FSB can be an essential part of their success. Throughout the day, you will work towards sales targets in membership growth, retention, and quality, with the support of a collaborative team that shares knowledge and celebrates success. Keeping up to date with industry news, FSB campaigns, and member benefits will ensure you always have the right information to provide relevant, valuable advice.

What We’re Looking For

We need someone who thrives in a target-driven environment, enjoys engaging with people, and is motivated by success. You will have experience in sales, retention, or customer engagement—whether over the phone or face-to-face—and ideally, previous contact centre experience. Strong communication skills, confidence using CRM systems, and an understanding of GDPR are also key. Most importantly, you will have a passion for helping small businesses succeed.

Why Join FSB?

We offer a supportive team culture, uncapped commission, and a Monday-to-Friday schedule—no evenings or weekends. You will also enjoy:

  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy 3 days with your Annual Flex Pot
  • Annual Flex Pot to spend on benefits including additional pension, additional holidays, additional critical illness cover, cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership
  • Health cash plan (Access to claim back numerous benefits, including towards dental treatment, optical, chiropody, physiotherapy, counselling, health and wellbeing)
  • Critical illness and income protection insurance
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Pay
  • Access to an employee assistance programme and mental health first aiders
  • Group Personal Pension (GPP)
