Right Now Group are looking for a Road Freight Export Operator to join our client in the Colnbrook Area. Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing logistics firm specialising in global freight forwarding and supply chain solutions. The Road Freight Operator will have a strong background in Road Freight logistics, particularly in European operations. This role requires expertise in coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
Responsibilities of a Road Freight Operator:
- Manage end-to-end export processes for road freight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinate with international suppliers, carriers, and agents to secure bookings and negotiate freight rates.
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including customs, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and other government agencies' requirements.
- Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Handle shipment discrepancies and resolve any issues related to customs clearance or delivery delays.
- Must be able to complete Road Freight Entries.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and distribution teams to optimise logistics and inventory management.
The Successful Road Freight Operator:
- Proven experience in Road Freight, with a strong understanding of international shipping procedures and regulations.
- Familiarity with customs clearance processes and documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Experience using Boxtop & ASM Sequoia would be ideal.
Additional information for this role:
- Shift: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 09:00 - 17:30
- Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience)
