Role: To provide advice and support to social workers and care managers in the team on casework. To support the Team Manager by deputising in their absence and / or to act as Duty Manager when needed. To chair some Professional Meetings/Case Conferences as appropriate. To support the social worker on duty so that incoming concerns are acted upon in a timely and appropriate manner. To record actions and decisions in a clear and robust way on the Mosaic database. To work with some allocated complex cases, liaising with both internal and external colleagues as appropriate. Professional supervision of up to four social workers / care managers. Possibility of supervision of a social work student on placement. The postholder is one of several key people overseeing the work of the service. Through supervision of the direct reports, the postholder will ensure that statutory assessments / reviews are completed in a timely fashion such that decisions can be taken about next steps to promote the welfare of citizens.
