We’re looking for an Events Officer to join our Fundraising team. You’ll organise a variety of events, from receptions and garden parties to lectures and online events, engaging donors, supporters, and stakeholders in our work to protect nature and heritage.

What it's like to work here

We’re taking the next steps in our strategy, aiming for significant growth to ensure our conservation work and commitment to nature continue, while making sure everyone feels welcome and can access our places. Dedicated to excellence, the National Trust is an exciting, vibrant organisation, caring for some of the country’s most beautiful and historic sites, and bringing our work and places to life.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there’ll be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there’s flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

As Events Officer, you’ll plan and deliver a portfolio of high-profile events to engage wider stakeholders, with support from the Events team and collaboration across the charity. These events help bring supporters closer to our work, thank them, and showcase the impact of their support. You’ll manage event communications, budgets, logistics, and compliance, including Health and Safety. Working closely with the Fundraising team, Director-General’s office, and others across the organisation, you’ll ensure impactful, memorable events.

You’ll also assist the Events Manager in developing the long-term strategy for the events programme and bring it to life through execution. Additionally, you’ll manage an Events Assistant and work alongside the Fundraising Operations team to ensure events are relevant to diverse audiences.
