Job Description

Logistics Broker
  • Annual Salary: £34,000 – £38,000
  • Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire
  • Job Type: Full-time

Join a leading 4PL logistics company that provides comprehensive managed transport solutions across manufacturing, retail, and logistics sectors. We are seeking an experienced Logistics Broker to enhance our operations team within a dynamic subcontract haulage operation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Resource and allocate loads daily to achieve the best possible margin.
  • Ensure deliveries are scheduled on time and meet customer expectations.
  • Actively seek additional work through various trading platforms.
  • Engage with new and existing customers to drive repeat business and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain regular contact with the haulier base to ensure a continuous supply.
  • Monitor delivery performance and communicate any delays to customers promptly.
  • Work towards achieving set targets in line with operational KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Participate in an on-call duty rota.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in PC use, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn new transport management systems.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating transport rates with subcontractors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of legislation related to drivers' hours, vehicles, and the Working Time Directive.
  • In-depth knowledge of the transport and general haulage market across the UK.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Outstanding telephone communication skills.
