Job Description

40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, rotating shifts, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced facilities professional to join our dedicated team of caretakers. Working on a rotating shift pattern, you'll alternate weekly between:

  • Early Shift: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm

  • Day Shift: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • Late Shift: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

As a caretaker, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and security of the school site, ensuring it meets the highest standards. Ideally, you will bring previous experience in a school or educational setting, along with a proactive and responsive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.

  • Liaising with external contractors for routine and emergency matters.

  • Coordinating school and external events.

  • Conducting risk assessments and maintaining accurate inspection records for caretaking tasks.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time role offering 25 days of annual leave (increasing to 27 days after five years of service).

  • Free school lunches are provided during term time.

  • Significant overtime hours are available.
