Rayment Recruitment is looking for a Sous Chef to join a busy four-star luxury hotel in the Colchester area, using the best of British produce to create a fusion of great tastes and innovative culinary delights, whatever the occasion.
The Company:
This four-star, 30-bedroom luxury hotel is surrounded by glorious parkland, yet only minutes from Colchester, Britain\’s oldest recorded town. The Hotel combines the romance and charm of an eighteenth-century Grade II listed house with all the comforts of contemporary living. This luxury Essex hotel extends this philosophy to its food, offering a modern, award-winning brasserie open every day and an impressive traditional afternoon tea served in its elegant lounges in the main house.
The Role:
This role would suit an experienced Sous chef with extensive knowledge of working with fresh food and who holds an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent.
As a Sous chef, you will be supporting and assisting the Head chef and senior Sous chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
In the absence of the Head Chef and senior Sous chef, you will be running the kitchen, therefore, experience of managing a catering team is essential.
Within this role, you will be working to agreed budgets and meeting targets whilst preparing and producing the highest quality food at all times.
As Sous chef, you will need to procure food and manage supplier relationships; excellent communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a quality hotel or restaurant, have COSHH knowledge, and experience organising, prioritising, and managing a section.
Salary is GBP34,000
