Job Description

Transport Operations Manager
  • Job Type: 18-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
  • Location: Hatfield
  • Salary: £50k – £55k per annum

We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This role is crucial for someone who excels in problem-solving and strategic thinking as our business rapidly scales. You will play a key role in transforming the transport industry and contributing to the success and future of our company.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the live operations team, ensuring day-to-day management and oversight.
  • Drive the profitability and performance of the team.
  • Deliver and exceed service levels for both shippers and carriers.
  • Manage the accuracy and timeliness of the Carrier Self Billing programme.
  • Collaborate with the onboarding team to ensure seamless addition of new shippers and carriers.
  • Uphold and promote the company's values within the team.
  • Ensure Gross Profit is generated and protected through accurate transactions on the platform.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of operational experience in Road Freight in the UK/Ireland.
  • Proven management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK & Ireland geography.
  • Ability to motivate the team to exceed targets.
  • Tenacious and capable of thriving under positive pressure with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Strong networking and collaborative skills.
