Job Title: Repairs Inspector

Location: Ashford, Kent

Salary: Up to £37,905 per annum, Plus lease car or cash alternative of £2,080 per annum

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Inspector to strengthen our existing Responsive Repairs team in providing a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service to our tenants.

You will need to have a thorough all round knowledge and experience in preparing and supervising building maintenance, improvement and refurbishment contracts to domestic as you will be undertaking pre-inspections and specifying works, ensuring works are completed and carrying out post inspections as necessary, along with:

  • Undertaking contract administration of the term contract for the provision of responsive repairs and works to void properties.
  • Monitoring the performance of contactors to ensure that they deliver the levels of quality, value for money and customer satisfaction as specified in the contract.
  • Engaging with tenants to ensure that each repair achieves high levels of satisfaction within our financial constraints.

Role Requirements:

Provide a comprehensive, high quality surveying services for day-to-day responsive maintenance and void properties. Monitor, liaise and direct the appointed maintenance contractors.

To investigate and manage to resolution all repairs including necessary pre and post site visits and liaise with tenants as necessary.

About you:

You should have an HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent and/or have considerable relevant experience in the property management field or have a trade background with an understanding of domestic electrical installations along with having experience in:

  • Day-to-day repairs and working in void properties
  • Using a Schedule of Rates ordering system

It is essential that you have good communication skills and be committed to providing a high-quality service to our tenants.

Other requirements:

  • Current full UK driving license
  • Physically fit (will be required to use scaffolds, ladders etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials and legal matters
  • Listening skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to understand target audiences.
  • Good computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong numeracy skills

Desirable:

  • Hold a professional accreditation either with the RICS or CIOB
  • P405
  • Management of Asbestos in Buildings
  • HSRS
  • Professional qualification with a relevant Batchelor\’s Degree, minimum level 6 qualification within property construction, building services discipline.
