Commercial Director

Location: Warwickshire

Salary: Circa £70k – £90k Base + Benefits + Bonus + LTIP (TBC)

Overview

We are looking for a Commercial Director to lead our established online flooring business. The ideal candidate will have previous management experience in a home furnishings eCommerce business and a solid understanding of online marketing practices. While you will have a skilled team of experts handling SEO, paid marketing, and other digital strategies, were seeking a leader who can contribute ideas for growth and drive business performance, drawing on their previous experience. You will report directly to the Group CEO and take responsibility for the overall management, strategy, and performance of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is results-driven, conscientious, and has a passion for scaling online businesses.

This is a highly commercial role, requiring a strategic leader with a proven track record in online retail, particularly in homeware (preferably flooring, tiles, kitchens, or bathrooms). You will be fully accountable for the businesss performance, with a focus on scaling the online operation, optimising profitability, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will work closely with the ownership to execute a growth strategy that aligns with the companys vision and values. In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP), rewarding you for achieving specific growth targets over an agreed period, including stretch goals.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the company in executing its growth strategy, focusing on increasing turnover and profitability while maintaining a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Identify new opportunities for expansion, including product diversification, market penetration, and customer acquisition.
  • Lead the business with a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and customer- centricity.

Commercial Accountability

  • Drive sales performance across all channels, with an emphasis on online retail.
  • Take responsibility for budget management, financial planning, and performance tracking, ensuring profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Optimise pricing strategies, promotions, and product offerings to maximise revenue and margins.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the daily operations of the business, ensuring the efficient functioning of all departments including sales, logistics, and customer service.
  • Implement processes and systems to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
