About The Role
We are recruiting for a Bid Manager to join the Bids team in our Energy Division at M Group Services. This role is a remote role (must be based in the UK). You will be involved in managing bids on behalf of Morrison Energy Services, Morrison Data Services, Callisto and Seeka. Supporting the delivery of planned growth targets across the Division through the effective management of bids, managing bid creation and delivery. Working closely with the wider Energy Division operational teams to grow the businesses in line with the agreed Business Plan will be a key part of your role.
We are looking for someone who is obsessive about communicating our message, whether it is precision-engineered technical answers to maximise tender quality scores, or polished presentations and visuals that communicate our market-leading services and commitment to quality. Reporting into the Head of Bids.
What you will be doing:
- Manage key bids across the Energy Division to deliver the agreed Business Plan.
- Work closely with other parts of the division to deliver winning proposals and agreed business targets, e.g., leading bid kick-off and storyboard sessions.
- Ensure effective communication to all parts of the division, working closely with sales and business development teams.
- Ensure bid plans meet the needs of each tender in terms of timescales, resource and support e.g. operational input.
- Ensure final bid submissions are complete and correct, ensuring they are well written, reflect the clients' needs and showcase the best of the Energy Division, focusing on why the client should choose our business to deliver their service requirements.
- Coordinating with other functions that are critical to each bid, e.g. estimating, commercial input and final governance sign-off.
- Manage bids through multiple levels of governance.
- Support the bid team and wider business development activity.
- Act as a senior member of the bid team to offer support and guidance to others.
- Support reporting activities when required.
- Assist the wide business development in creating engaging proposals.
- Create and update case studies and other key material for the bid library.
- Offer support and input into the bid team to ensure the best outcome for the business and clients, e.g., sharing in and developing best practice across the division and wider group business.
What we need from you:
- Considerable experience in tender/bid management as well as bid writing, preferably within a bid management function.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with all levels of an organisation and influence key stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering successful tenders achieving sales/BD targets.
- Ability to operate within a professional team environment, coordinating the activities of multiple functions to provide input to specific bids/tenders that meet high-level quality expectations.
- Increase the pipeline of addressable opportunities within our markets.
- Advanced MS Word skills and proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely for readers who are busy or distracted.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
- Extensive experience of producing visual collateral that conveys quality and professionalism.
- Exceptional time management/prioritisation skills.
- Able to travel when required.
