The Leicestershire Revenues and Benefits Partnership is looking for a Non-Domestic Rates Officer to join our busy team. The partnership is made up of the revenues and benefits teams for Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, North-West Leicestershire District Council and Harborough District Council.

The role performs several key activities to ensure effective billing and debt recovery of business rates and the BID levy including:

  • Advice on business rates and the BID levy
  • Updating, reconciling and the maintenance of the NDR list and databases
  • Issuing bills, notices, and recovery documentation
  • Granting reliefs and exemptions
  • Processing and monitoring payments and actioning refunds
  • Chasing and the interrogation of non-payments and referring to enforcement agents for collection

You must be able to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy, be able to use a range of IT software systems including Microsoft Office. You must also be able to work in a paperless office, have a flexible approach to your work and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position is subject to a basic criminal record check.

The role will be office based during the initial training period and then hybrid working will be available. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.
