Quest Search & Selection are proud to partner with a multi-site, B2C consumer business.
The role of senior buyer is to develop and source a trend-driven, commercially focused range that drives profit. Supporting the Buying Director and Head of Buying, you will help implement the buying strategy, while fostering strong relationships with existing suppliers .
Duties & Responsibilities for this Womenswear Buyer:
- Develops and curates a commercially balanced product range while meeting the company's margin targets.
- Leads regular product reviews across departments, ensuring alignment on trends, styles, and colour palettes.
- Possesses a deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the full buying process, with a keen eye for print design.
- Manages an efficient and timely product sign-off process, adhering to the critical path and planning cycle.
- Leads the ladieswear category in creating trend-driven collections that introduce the right level of newness, fashion, and trend.
- Takes ownership of maximising departmental profit through effective negotiation and building strong global supplier relationships.
- Analyse and trade the department, assessing the relevance of new and emerging trends for the brand and planning accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising team to track and manage trade, ensuring stock turnover, margin targets, and profit levels are met.
To be successful in this Womenswear Buyer:
- Ideally having experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer level within fashion sector.
- Experienced in negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, cost prices, and lead times.
- You must have experience in own-label buying
- Demonstrated success in developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that surpass sales and profit targets.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and the entire buying process, with a keen eye for print design.
- Passionate about trends and skilled at driving innovation and newness in a fast-paced environment.
