About Us: EC Drummund is a fast growing, family run, agricultural business dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in poultry farming. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our 5000 meter farm, which is set to expand into a 19,000 meter facility in the near future.
Role Overview: As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the farm, ensuring the highest levels of bird welfare, biosecurity, and budget management. You will also lead a team of staff, helping them to develop their skills and progress in their roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of farm operations, including poultry welfare, biosecurity, and farm maintenance.
- Manage farm budgets and monitor financial performance to ensure cost-efficiency.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Check feeding and water systems, weigh birds, monitor bird welfare/behaviours and general farm maintenance.
- Implement and monitor health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Assist with the expansion of the farm as it grows from 5000 meters to 18,000 meters.
- Work closely with senior management to plan and execute farm improvements and upgrades.
- Take full accountability of the farm and run it as your own, sorting any problems that may arise.
- Full visibility on farm P and L to help manage decision making.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven Farm Manager experience in a similar role.
- Poultry Passport (essential).
- Strong understanding of bird welfare and biosecurity best practices.
- Budget management and financial oversight experience.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Ability to adapt to a growing and evolving farm operation.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Telehandlers and Forklifts (optional, but beneficial).
