Gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for experienced Canteen Assistant for temporary assignment for holiday cover for approx. 6 weeks, in Cirencester. The main purpose of the Canteen Assistant is to work within the facilities team to prepare, serve, and clean away meals and food supplies for employees daily.
For those that are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the working hours there may be opportunities available for longer period of the time, however this is not guaranteed.
Main Duties:- Prepare meals in line with the weekly lunch menu which includes chopping, slicing, cutting, peeling, and seasoning ingredients.
- Provide special dietary and allergy information.
- Assist in the serving of food to employees.
- Work under the guidance of the Catering Manager to ensure the correct stock and inventory is maintained.
- Assist with ordering supplies as and when required.
- Wash and clean up before and after service in the kitchen.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are used following regulations of hygiene and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness by disposing of rubbish following appropriate procedures.
- Experience as a Kitchen or Canteen Assistant or working in a similar environment.
- A qualification in catering would be desirable.
- Good food hygiene.
- Dedicated and reliable to complete essential duties promptly.
- Exceptional time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
Monday to Thursday 7am – 3pm
Friday 7am – 1:30pm
Basic Rate - £12 - £15 DOE
Successful candidates will have experience working in a similar role.
