An excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Design Engineer to join a well-established company based in Birtley, Gateshead.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: Gateshead.

Salary: Starting from £37,000 to £43,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.

About the Role:

The companys Design Engineers are responsible for technical project delivery of hydraulic systems. Their duties are to design, plan and deliver projects to meet customer needs. The scope of the engineering builds may include hydraulic power units, control consoles, bespoke hydraulic systems, and manifolds.

The project owner will be responsible for providing the technical information and documentation to the customer, suppliers, sub-contractors and our hydraulic technicians. They will be maintaining constant communicationwiththecustomerandensurethatallcommercial,technical,andfinancialtargetsaremet.

As part of this role there is an expectation that the project owner will have presence in the work shop and on- site and may be involved in activities such as mechanical assembly and commissioning.

Thispositionwillbeavariedandchallengingrolewithpositiveopportunitiesforamotivatedindividualto develop the position to achieve their own career goals.

Main Duties:

Communication withcustomer

Review and clarify customerrequirements

Prepare engineering drawings and hydraulicschematics

Prepare quotations and technicalspecifications

Carry out engineeringcalculations

Select and size components to optimise system performance andcost

Resolveproblemsandimprovemanufacturabilityandserviceabilityofproducts

Prepare technical specification for sub-contractors

Prepare technical documents for work files such as, work instructions & risk assessments, mechanicalandelectricaldrawings,hydraulicschematics,technicalprocedures,andreports

Support technicians and engineers during testing andcommissioning

Control work after completion and issue the as-built finaldocuments

Ensure compliance with customerrequirements

Ensure that project financial targets aremet

Review the project KPIs fordebriefing

Attend site or workshop whenrequired

Supporting in all areas of work whereappropriate

Candidate Requirements:

2:1Bachelordegreeorequivalentinmechanical engineering

Ability to carryout engineeringcalculations

Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical/controlsystem

Time management skills to handle multi-tasking

Understanding of manufacturing processes and constructionmethods

Good knowledge of computer assisted design(CAD)softwareAuto desk Inventorpreferred

Interest in working both in a desk and workshopenvironment

Creative approach for generating newideas

Strong background in math andscience

Clear communicate or both written andverbal

Skilled in Microsoft Office packages including Excel andWord

Eligible to work permanently in theUK.

Full drivinglicense

Ontime, specification and in budget delivery of own projects at alltime

Ensurecomplianceofdesignstocustomerspecificationandstandardsatalltime

Preparationoftendersandquotationsontimewithatleast10%conversionrate.
