A&P Tyne Plate Burner

We are looking for a time-served fabricator with a keen eye for detail to work within our production team who can cut large metal plates to precision.

Youll be working on a variety of projects, from repairs to construction, in the commercial and military sectors and might have been a flame cutter, plasma cutter or a burner.

We have a pipeline of work to keep you busy for years ahead so if youre a visual perfectionist who doesnt compromise on quality this is great permanent work based on the Tyne.

So, what will you do?

Youll read and interpret drawings to determine the correct cutting procedures for the materials you are working with

Measuring and marking metal plates youll be operating and maintaining plate burning machines to cut large metal plates to precise specifications with no room for error

You will work with CNC Plasma, oxy-fuel and grinding machines and well as quickie machines for cutting and edge preparation then Arc Air for gouging

Undertake dry survey requirements

And what are we looking for?

Youll have served your time in a relevant trade and will have used CNC profile cutting machines

Youll be experienced in Arc Air gouging and Grinding

This role requires stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions paying high attention to detail driven by a commitment to delivering to the highest quality. It will be noisy and sometimes hot, sometimes cold as were on the Tyne!

You will need good steady hands and strong vision to focus on accuracy when cutting and measuring
