NDT Personnel is excited to be recruiting on behalf of an established NDT capital equipment manufacturer located in South Yorkshire. Our client is a renowned name within its sector, specialising in the manufacture of equipment associated with magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspections, with diverse market presence in many sectors, including aerospace, rail and oil & gas.
The role:
The role is for an experienced sheet metal fabricator to work in a busy fabrication shop to produce both standard and bespoke equipment used in the NDT sector. This will encompass all aspects of fabrication, including: MIG & TIG welding (typically 1.5 to 10mm thick material), marking out, drilling and tapping to close tolerances, and operating associated fabrication equipment.
Experience required (essential):
MIG & TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel
Work with stainless steel to a high-quality finish
Ability to read engineering drawings
Experience of operating guillotines and bending machines
Basic math and problem solving skills
The person:
Effective communication and organisational skills
A team player with the ability to work independently and able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
