Financial Accountant in Newbury, Berkshire

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established company based in Newbury. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, with close collaboration with the Director of Finance and Operations.

With a focus on tax-related accounting duties, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial and management accounts, with a strong emphasis on tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist with budgeting processes
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts
• Maintain a solid understanding of VAT rules and VAT accounting
• Administer payroll in accordance with relevant legislation
• Ensure compliance with charity-related financial regulations
• Assisting with financial year end procedures
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Prepare cashflow statements
• Complete statutory returns
• Help facilitate the financial audit
• Responding to any HMRC queries which may arise in respect of VAT

Requirements:

• Part-qualified or qualified by experience Accountant with a focus on tax
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and payroll administration
