We currently have exciting opportunities for Line Trainers to join the team in Thetford. The hours of work and shift patterns is Nights 18.00 – 06.00 on a 4on, 4off rotation basis. The rate of pay is £13.80 per hour (+10% night shift allowance between 10pm – 6am) Introduce and integrate new colleagues into 2SFG Thetford supporting the first 8 weeks of employment Provide new starters with the necessary knowledge and skills for competency in job role Maintain the standard in terms of site rules, PPE, H&S, work practices, and encourage positive behaviours Increase retention rate and reduce labour turnover Main Responsibilities: Support weekly inductions with new starters, accompany new starters to the shop floor and introduce them to managers, supervisors, and work colleagues. Ensure new starters are aware and correctly following PPE procedures. Ensure new starters are aware of basic procedures and processes of areas of work in their first shift and and correctly following PPE procedures Familiarise new starters with the site, routes to workplace, lockers, toilets, break areas, PPE rules. Carry out daily welfare checks with new starters during first 4-day shift Ongoing support Be the go-to person for all new starters in first 8 weeks until they are settled in their role, have established a network in the team and are familiar with the tasks required of the role. Be a constant presence to impart knowledge and learning through instruction, demonstration, observation, confirmation to ensure new starters can carry out their role competently. Implement and complete the new starters Personal Development Plan (PDP) set by Training Department, ensuring timescales are met, raise any issues immediately. Training to include basic role related skills, briefings, updates relevant to their role/department. For Semiskilled/skilled roles, liaise with new starters/training/line manager to ensure PDP is agreed. Develop and maintain links with production managers and production coordinators to provide regular feedback on new starter progress, and to assist with any issues/queries managers have with new starters regarding work performance. Develop and maintain links with the rest of the training team and ensure the needs of both training and production are met. Track New starters for first 4 weeks whilst on shift and escalating any non-attendance/no show to HR for AWOL process. Ensure training records are accurate and passed to the training team in a timely manner. Ways of working Ensure all Health and Safety and food Safety rules are strictly adhered to in accordance with current legislation and site rules Provide support enabling the colleague to achieve and maintain company standards. Understand and maintain customer product quality standards to spec. Ensure minimal product and material wastage is maintained. Monitor ability, work rate, product quality, hygiene practices, compliance, attitude, attendance/timekeeping. Consider learner needs and barriers such as language when delivering training. Identify specific areas or department where new starters strengths can be best utilised. Identify individuals with the potential to work at a higher level or in a skilled role and put plans in place to assist development. Ensure and maintain the highest of personal standards, always setting an example. Undertake any reasonable request made to meet the business needs of the company.
