About the Position for Electrical Engineer:
H & B Recruitment are working with a well-known client seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to join their team as Workshop and Field Service Engineers. This permanent role is based at their Brentwood branch, covering various sites and installations across the UK, primarily in the southeast region.
Key Responsibilities for an Electrical Engineer:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in industrial and commercial systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and component replacements.
- Conducting routine maintenance, testing, and inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturer and industry standards.
- Installing electrical systems, including motors, switchgear, and distribution panels, in accordance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting electrical systems within heavy engineering environments.
- Rewiring and modifying electrical systems while adhering to safety requirements and regulations.
- Completing detailed reports on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations.
- Providing technical expertise and professional assessments to customers.
What We Need from You:
- Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of IEE regulations and possession of City & Guilds 2360, 2382 qualifications, and an inspection & testing certificate (2391).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a team.
- Driving license is essential.
- Knowledge and experience within heavy engineering sectors.
Desirable & Technical Skills for Electrical Engineer:
- CompEx Training (1-4).
- Experience in the power generation sector, including prime movers and balance of plant (BOP).
- Knowledge of high-voltage systems, trace heating installation/testing, motor installation/testing, and electrical actuator testing.
- Availability for callouts on a 1 in 4 basis.
- Willingness to work away from home when necessary.
