  • Developing of the tool setup, configuration and scenario files, such as Wireshark Dissectors

  • Maintaining of the toolset that is deployed across the integration labs

  • Performing post event analysis of the recorded Combat System data

  • Organising and conducting toolset training

  • Carrying out the configuration management of the deployed toolset

  • Developing the future tools and maintaining the toolset roadmap

  • Extensive software & script development experience on Windows and Linux platforms in most of the following: C/C++/C#, Shell scripts, Perl, Python, PHP, SQL

  • Good understanding of IP networks

  • Good understanding of systems engineering methodologies and experience of the full lifecycle

Desirable:

  • Ability to grasp emergent technologies and understand how these can be applied to existing or future integration tools

  • Good understanding of virtualisation technologies & containerisation

  • Understanding of how synthetic environments support system integration and how they interface to the system under test

  • Able to respond to rapidly changing circumstances

  • In depth understanding of data recording and/or analysis tools such as Wireshark, and their application over the integration lifecycle

Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline.

Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution.

The Combat Systems Integration Services (CSIS) – Tools & Technology (T&T) team:

Within this team you will be developing and maintaining the integration, test, and analysis support infrastructure for the Naval Ships Combat Systems Maritime Integration & Support Centre, along with providing technical support to both our internal and external customers. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work on various current and future defence projects, allowing you to gain exposure to a wide range of stakeholders. With a lot of opportunity for continuous learning, you will be able to explore and work on current and emerging technologies.
