Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to support our leading process industry client in their search for a Senior Project Engineer to join their Engineering & Projects (E&P) team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of renewable and sustainable technology, playing a key role in the design, development, and commissioning of new fermentation plants.
The Role:
As Senior Project Engineer, you will manage project development programmes, ensuring timely and successful delivery while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and technical standards. You will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractors to oversee projects from initial design through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the development of new process projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Support plant operations to enhance performance and optimisation.
- Oversee and produce technical documentation to ensure H&S and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct HAZOP studies and integrate findings into safe and effective designs.
- Manage external contractors and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Assist with procurement, including tender processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Provide technical support, including process evaluations and value engineering improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5-10 years of Project Engineering experience within a relevant industry.
- BEng (or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline – Mechanical/Process Bias ideally
- Strong technical knowledge of project engineering principles, including PFDs, P&IDs, and process design.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple project tasks.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including MS Project.
- A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
