Deputy Payroll and Pensions Manager

Location: Headquarters Ripley

Salary: £36,124 £40,476 per annum

We are looking for an experienced, professional, and enthusiastic person to join our busy Payroll and Pensions Team. This role will support the Payroll and Pensions Manager in leading the team.

You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and support of five Payroll and Pension Officers and the processes that this team is responsible for. These include but are not limited to:

  • accurate processing of all pay and pension related information,
  • ensuring monthly pay and pension run deadlines are achieved,
  • managing daily staff resourcing,
  • administration and ensuring integrity of the services payroll system,
  • preparation of monthly BACS payments,
  • ensure monthly and annual submissions to the pension administrators and HMRC.

Additionally, liaison with external agencies, such as the Services external pension scheme administrator, HMRC, and regional pensions group is also key to this role, so excellent communication skills are essential.

The Service operates several pension schemes and is currently implementing the pension remedy legislation therefore a strong understanding of pensions is required.

The normal working week is 37 hours however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours.

You will be a team leader with the experience and technical knowledge to ensure accurate processing, recording and security of pay and pension information. You will hold CIPP L3, and ideally have or be studying toward L5, and be able to demonstrate continued CPD and up to date knowledge of relevant employee related taxes.
