Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor

Cobalt are thrilled to be partnered with a leading contractor who due to a number of project wins are looking to expand their commercial team.
Our client have over 50 years of experience and are a leading name within the construction industry specialising in utility, defence, education, residential and commercial projects.
They are seeking an ambitious and experienced Quantity Surveyor where you will gain exposure to a large portfolio of projects and be able to technically develop your skills and work on contracts up to £60 million in value. Whether you are junior level or a managing quantity surveyor this is your chance to get involved working on exciting projects, within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The Role
You will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of various construction projects. You will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, conducting cost control, and ensuring compliance with project budgets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Provide regular reports on project financials, including cost status, forecasts, and variations.
- Accurately assess and value variations to the scope of work as directed by clients or project managers.
- Prepare and submit timely applications for payment in line with project milestones and contractual terms.
- Assist with procurement activities, including identifying and selecting subcontractors, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Requirements
BSc Quantity Surveying / Construction Management degree or relevant experience
Proven experience in quantity surveying/cost management
Excellent understanding of construction processes, contracts and budgeting
Proficient in various estimation/cost software such as Bluebeam or CostX.
