Job Title: Learning Mentor

Contract Type: Full-time, Ongoing
Salary: 90 – 125 per day

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with an alternative provision in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join their team starting September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who require additional guidance to succeed in education, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream settings.

About the Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 to support their social, emotional, and academic development. You will help to re-engage young people in their education through positive relationships, structured support, and tailored interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support behaviour, wellbeing, and learning
• Deliver targeted 1:1 or small-group interventions
• Support students both in and outside of the classroom setting
• Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience and self-confidence
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual learning plans

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with young people, ideally within an alternative provision or pastoral role
• A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
• The ability to de-escalate challenging situations and promote positive behaviour
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
• A background in youth work, mentoring, SEND, or behaviour support is highly desirable
