More about the role
Places Leisure (PL) is part of Places for People Group where we aim to be the UK\βs leading physical activity and wellbeing social enterprise. Working in the PL Financial Planning and Analysis team assisting with the mission to shape, partner and influence the financing of Leisure Centre Operating Plans. Collaborating closely with functional teams, to deliver on the road map of implementing a new planning system to enhance forecasting processes in support of the budget calendar, communicating progress to plans through KPIs, and supplementing the digital transformation journey, through automation of financial reporting through Visualisation Tools. Having core finance and business analysis skills, to prioritise requests, build out requirements, develop and execute plans to manage high-quality, well-governed and catalysing practices that deliver on the ambitions of the organisation.
This is a hybrid role with a mixture of office and home working (2/3 days office based in our Camberley office). To be considered for this role you will need to be within a suitable distance of this location.

Essential Criteria
- Practical experience of financial planning, analysis and finance processes.
- Excellent working knowledge of Planning Tools (Anaplan), Reporting Tools (Power BI), and Microsoft products particularly Excel
- Keep appraised of latest standards, polices and best practices

You should be capable of building relationships with stakeholders, to understand the business needs. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be a good business partner, supporting decision making by offering perspective and providing financial guidance, and resourcing solutions. Having a curious approach to the role, seeking opportunities for process improvement and recommending solutions. Have experience of presenting numbers through visually appealing, quantitative narrative and storytelling.
You must be a self-starter, enabled to work independently, and collaborate with the wider team, prioritising work appropriately, and able to escalate issues impeding progress. Ideally, you are enthusiastic, ambitious and committed, with excellent numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills.
