Protocol Education have an urgent need for Tutors in Teesside and surrounding areas. We work closely with the Local Authorities providing experienced and committed tutors to support students on a 1:1 basis. Areas covered: Middlesbrough, Redcar, Saltburn, Marske, Brotton, Skelton, Normanby, Guisborough, Eston, South Bank, North Ormesby. These pupils have a range of needs including: SEND needs – such as Autism and learning difficulties Children in Care – needing catch up tuition due to missing chunks of school or being out of education School refusers SEMH needs – varying from anxiety to severe mental health needs Asylum Seekers Pupils who have been excluded from school We are looking for compassionate and patient Qualified Teachers who are either retired and looking to work part time, or Teachers/experienced Tutors looking to use their skills outside of the classroom environment to make a difference for children in the local area. Tuition sessions are expected to take place either within the young person’s home or a local library/community hub. The support can vary from 1 hour to 15 hours a week.  As a 1:1 tutor you will provide support in any of the following areas: English, Maths, Life Skills to prepare students returning to school. The students can range from aged 4 – 16 years old. Access to your own vehicle is highly desirable for the role, as you will be travelling between students for each session. Requirements of a Tutor: Ideally you will be a qualified teacher with QTS or a similar qualification OR you will be an experienced tutor Confident in planning and preparing lessons and resources Resilient and patient Compassionate and understanding of different families’ backgrounds and their needs. Benefits: This work can start immediately or at a date that would suit your situation The hours are flexible and work completely around your responsibilities at home, other work or just your preferences Pay is £20-28 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience) Full support is provided from our experienced team Opportunity to undertake regular CPD training PAYE pay Refer a friend scheme – receive £50 for every educator you refer to us.
