Job Summary
We are currently looking to recruit an Associate Buyer to our Procurement Team based at our Tranent facilities on an initial 15 month fixed term contract.
The role is an integral part of the UK Procurement team and requires some basic knowledge /experience of procurement alongside with good negotiation and communication skills.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager with a hands-on attitude in building strong relationships with the external and internal stakeholders across the business; support the business in making the procurement decision in the most cost effective and efficient manner ;ensuring the required supplies/services are timely available to meet the business requirement.
The below are the minimum requirements related to the Associate Buyer position –
- Experience in a similar procurement or administrative role with a strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures
- Experience in working within a fast-paced procurement environment.
- Strong organisational skills; Able to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments/conflicting priorities and report on progress
- Attention to detail, analytical skills with the hands on approach to resolve issues; Using data both current and historical to propose business solutions in solving demand and supply mismatches
- Good understanding of stakeholder relationship with the ability to professionally communicate to the stakeholders, both internal & external.
- Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
- High level of drive and commitment – results driven individual who builds high performance teams.
- Problem solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of JAGGAER and SAP experience desirable but not essential.
- Good IT skills, including all Microsoft Office applications, Excel and Power Point.
Salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience.
Upon appointment the title of this role will be Associate Buyer.
