Senior Maintenance Technician
MJMK Restaurants own and operate a collection of award-winning restaurants. Founded in 2018 by lifelong friends Jake Kasumov and Marco Mendes, our journey began with Casa do Frango in London Bridge, inspired by Marcos Portuguese heritage. We later expanded to Piccadilly (2022) and Victoria (2023). In 2020, we partnered with chef Santiago Lastra to open KOL in Marylebone, celebrating Mexican cuisine with British ingredients. KOL has since earned a Michelin Star and was named No. 17 on the Worlds 50 Best Restaurants list.
In 2022, we launched Lisboeta on Charlotte Street with renowned Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes. 2024 saw two new ventures: Fonda, a modern Mexican restaurant on Heddon Streetour second collaboration with Santiagoand AngloThai in Marylebone with John Chantarasak, blending Thai flavours with British ingredients. Within three months, AngloThai earned a Michelin star, and Fonda was included in the Michelin Guide.
As we grow, we are looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join the support team and maintain our high standards across all sites. The position is for a Monday to Friday work week, electrical experience is a must and a bike/car licence would be preferred.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Maintenance Technician at MJMK Restaurants will include:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Undertake regular plant maintenance and watering across the estate
Carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks across our restaurants, ensuring a high standard of functionality and aesthetics.
Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks to keep our 8 restaurant sites in top condition.
Address furniture repairs, fixtures, fittings, and general carpentry tasks.
Carry out minor plumbing works, including fixing leaks, unblocking drains, and replacing taps.
Support painting, decorating, and surface maintenance as needed.
Exclude electrical and gas-related repairs, which will be handled by certified professionals.
Project Support:
Collaborate with the Property Team on ad-hoc projects to improve or renovate spaces within the restaurants.
Provide hands-on support during the execution of refurbishment or installation tasks.
Coordination and Communication:
Maintain clear and prompt communication with site managers and the support team regarding completed tasks and upcoming priorities.
Liaise with the Operations team to ensure tasks are completed within times and timeframes required
Organize and track necessary tools, supplies, and materials to ensure efficient workflow across locations.
Tools and Equipment:
MJMK will provide the Handyman with basic tools and equipment necessary for day-to-day tasks.
You will be provided a budget to purchase necessary equipment as required and work with the Property Team to purchase and acquire what is needed
Ensure tools and materials are properly maintained and accounted for across sites.
Identify and communicate additional tool or material needs for specific repairs or projects.
Sustainability and Efficiency:
Work proactively to identify areas for energy or resource savings in the physical upkeep of the sites.
Contribute to waste reduction initiatives by repairing items rather than replacing them whenever feasible.
