This post would be particularly beneficial for those doctors wishing to gain additional experience in gynaecology oncology, both with clinical and operational experience.
Our department has a good track record for supporting clinical fellows with their goals and this post would be no exception.
This post will provide the opportunity for the post holder to access gynae oncology theatre sessions, fast track clinics and ward based clinical development. In addition, opportunity to develop skills in participating in MDTs, and working within the multidisciplinary team.
We have an active interest in education in the department, and would like to see the candidate contribute to teaching particularly in developing our fellows aiming for MRCOG.
The post holders will be required to contribute to a 48 hour EWTD full shift rota. The remainder of the job plan each week will consist of general middle grade duties on Labour Ward, gynaecology on call, gynae-oncology ward round and clinics., The weekly timetable would be agreed upon appointment but would include exposure to gynae oncology theatres, fast track gynaecology clinics and oncology follow up clinics as well as labour ward and gynaecology on call, antenatal clinics in order to maintain general competencies. The timetable would also include attendance at MDT and gynae oncology ward rounds. When on a long day on call, the post holder would complete the full shift on labour ward as per usual practice in the department.
