About The Role
Purpose
This is a central strategic role within the Communications and Content Team, designed to foster collaboration across departments and organisations to bring to life creative campaigns around key priorities from the ECB’s five-year strategy, Inspiring Generations.
As a considered and organised leader, you’ll create and deliver first-class campaign work aimed at driving awareness and changing consideration of cricket, creating inclusive behaviours and showcasing the progress the game is making to become the most inclusive team sport.
The role has two main areas of focus at present: the promotion of the England Women’s players and team to drive ticket sales and create sustained fandom, alongside management of the Raising The Game equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) platform.
Responsibilities
- The strategic and project lead for our targeted and proactive campaigns to address the objectives of our Inspiring Generations strategy, with a focus on England Women and Raising The Game.
- Leading a team of campaign leads and senior managers, third party agencies and partners to deliver on our ambitions of growing cricket’s fanbase and changing perceptions around inclusivity in the game.
- Working collaboratively with the other Head of Comms and key figures in the Content, Marketing and Commercial Teams to maximise the potential around major campaign moments.
- Thinking beyond comms to ensure the campaigns delivered carry value from a paid, earned, shared and loaned perspective.
- Working closely with the Performance and Commercial Teams to gain sufficient elite player access to elevate the visibility of campaign work and create authentic advocates.
- Leading the planning and delivery of the Raising the Game EDI education campaign to encourage inclusive behaviours across the game.
- Leading the planning and delivery of the England Women campaign to raise awareness of their key home series and create consideration to buy tickets to attend games.
- Working closely with the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup Comms, Content and Marketing teams to create synergy with the England Women’s campaign.
- Setting the Campaigns Team strategy for 2026, working alongside the Head of Comms – Strategy and Planning to map out the key priorities across England Women and Raising the Game for the year ahead.
- Leading the evaluation of campaigns which can include consumer/game insight to demonstrate their efficacy and unearth learnings for future planning.
- Putting audience insight at the heart of your planning, with a focus on what success looks like.
