We have partnered with a Tier-1 Alternative Investment Manager (150bn AUM) looking to hire a Senior Cross-Asset Investment Advisor to join their highly successful team in London. This is a high-profile, senior role (Director level), with a focus on discussing trade ideas (and the most effective expressions of a view), to a sophisticated client base, predominantly HNW/UHNW and institutional-calibre clients.
Our client has a long-term track record of excellent investment performance, substantial recent AUM growth, strong profitability, with ambitious growth plans ahead. The ideal candidate will have a strong fixed income background (as a discretionary portfolio manager/investment advisor, or trader/risk-taker) with any additional experience in cross-asset or structured products being a big plus. The client base that this team works with is typically sophisticated, and many of the trades being discussed will typically have a multi-layered structure, where derivatives on more sophisticated instruments might be used.
The firm’s advisory platform is highly respected, and there is an excellent working culture, with many people across the investment team joining from top-tier institutional asset managers, hedge funds, and sell-side institutions.
Key Responsibilities- Actively discuss trade ideas and investment recommendations across fixed income and other asset classes to a wide range of clients.
- Work directly with HNW/UHNW, delivering market insights and trade ideas (tactical and longer-term), based on risk-appetite.
- Leverage the firm’s extensive research capabilities and house views to develop high-conviction trade ideas.
- Work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and portfolio management teams, to ensure best-in-class service and investment performance for clients.
- Provide proactive, ongoing investment guidance, ensuring continuous optimization of client positions.
- Hands-on and proactive mentality, ability to thrive in a high-touch and client-facing environment, with a strong ability to identify risks and investment opportunities in real time.
- 8-15 years in a buy-side or sell-side risk-taking or client advisory role.
- Strong fixed income or cross-asset markets knowledge, including previously demonstrated ability to generate strong investment returns (while prioritizing capital preservation) for clients, either in an Advisory capacity, or as a trader or (discretionary) portfolio manager.
- Prior hands-on experience in line-by-line trade and portfolio execution is considered a key requirement.
- Strong client-facing experience, with the confidence, ability, and gravitas to interact with a range of clients, from sophisticated investors to legacy HNW/UHNW clients, while also having best-in-class client management skills.
- Strong ability to articulate trade recommendations and rationale to clients, clearly and effectively.
- Global mindset, with an ability to think beyond local markets and provide diversified investment perspectives.
This is a unique opportunity to join a firm with an exceptional track record of investment performance and recent growth, in a role that offers high visibility and significant impact within the business.
