Job Description
Marine Engineering / ETO Lecturer required in Glasgow. You will deliver various engineering workshop based practical as well as classroom based theoretical subjects to a diverse range of students working in the maritime and shore based engineering sectors from Cadets (Marine Engineering and ETO) to Chief Engineers and Senior ETOs as well modern apprentices.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
- Experience of working on board ships or offshore installations would be desirable as would a relevant trade qualification and a formal teaching qualification.
- To apply for the ETO lecturer position you must have an HND or Degree Level Qualification in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent and demonstrable electrical/ electronics industry experience.
- To apply for the Marine Engineering lecturer position you must have an MCA management level marine engineering qualification.
- You must be self-motivated and reliant and have a desire to teach with excellent MS Office skills.
- You should possess effective interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate learning to individuals with a variety of learning styles.
Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Disclosure Check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Participate in student recruitment, teaching and assessment, academic guidance, record student achievement, performance, creation of assessments and marking and monitor student performance.
- Responsible for the preparation of lesson plans and design and development of learning and teaching resources to meet student needs and address sector development.
