You will be a professional passionate about and experienced in enhancing our community work through our strategic partnerships. In this role, you’ll complement a lean but strong Sustainability team sitting centrally within the business.

What you’ll do
- Manage Lidl GB’s national community engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with company values and sustainability goals.
- Measure and report on the impact of Lidl GB’s community programs, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee Lidl GB’s national charity partnerships, ensuring they deliver measurable impact and align with Lidl GB’s brand values.
- Build relationships with NGOs, social enterprises, government bodies, and other stakeholders to enhance Lidl GB’s overall social impact.
- Develop and manage Lidl GB’s youth education program, ensuring it equips young people with essential skills and knowledge.
- Expand the program to reach more schools and students, focusing on employability, sustainability, and social responsibility.
- Develop internal education and engagement initiatives to help employees understand and contribute to Lidl GB’s community and social impact work.
- Collaborate with Lidl GB’s CSR buying teams to upskill farmers and suppliers on social impact, ethical sourcing, and sustainability.
- Maximise Lidl GB’s charitable giving and fundraising efforts through internal and external engagement strategies.
What you’ll need
- Passion for driving social change, supporting communities, and making a tangible difference.
- Experience in community engagement, charity management (and/or charity partnerships), corporate social responsibility (CSR), or sustainability. Any of this in a retail context is a bonus.
- Strategic thinker, who has the confidence to own and lead their topic area and bring people with them.
- Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Proven track record in delivering high quality work and impactful campaigns.
- Experience in developing education and training programs, particularly in schools or workplace settings would be advantageous.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, buying, HR and store teams to embed social impact initiatives.
- Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.
