About The Role

Are you looking for a new exciting challenge working with the Highways Major Projects and Infrastructure Team assisting with the delivery of our extensive and wide ranging Major Projects Portfolio. As the Assistant Project Manager, focusing on the Construction Phase of Projects, you will be responsible for working with our partners to deliver a vast programme of capital projects. The County Council is looking to recruit a new Assistant Construction Project Manager who will work alongside our current team and partner organisations with the ambition of securing a high performing and reliable highway network.

The County Council is focused on the sustainable growth of the economy by developing jobs, housing and the transport infrastructure across a diverse county with outstanding potential. The Major Projects and Infrastructure Team are key in supporting the County Councils 2050 vision by ensuring the Highway Network\’s is in optimal condition.

Our award-winning Highways Team are leading the way in revitalising and delivering transport and infrastructure schemes around known and planned housing growth, working in partnership with central government, external agencies and district councils.

About You

As the Assistant Construction Project Manager you will be assisting Major Projects Project Managers with the onsite delivery of the Major Projects Forward Programme. You will ideally have experience of working in the highway sector and in a local authority context. We are looking for a driven individual, who takes ownership for their actions and sets a positive tone with the team.

You will need strong personal and interpersonal skills, demonstrating excellent team working where good communication and negotiation skills are essential; we need your customer-focused nature to help build working relationships with our stakeholders.
