About the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) is a leading conservation charity dedicated to the protection of wildlife and their habitats. Founded in 1909, RZSS operates two major wildlife attractions: Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park. Our mission is to inspire and empower people to take action for wildlife conservation.

At Edinburgh Zoo, visitors can experience a diverse range of animals, including the famous giant pandas and the UK’s only koalas. The zoo plays a crucial role in global conservation efforts, participating in breeding programmes and research initiatives aimed at preserving endangered species.

Highland Wildlife Park offers a unique opportunity to see native Scottish wildlife alongside exotic species in a natural setting. The park focuses on education and awareness, providing visitors with insights into the importance of biodiversity and conservation.

RZSS is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, implementing various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly practices. We engage with local communities through educational programmes, workshops, and events that highlight the significance of wildlife conservation.

Through our research and conservation projects, we aim to make a positive impact on global biodiversity. Our team of experts collaborates with international partners to address pressing conservation challenges.

Join us in our journey to protect wildlife and create a sustainable future for generations to come. Together, we can make a difference!
