Innovation Specialist / New Product Development Technologist

Eden Scott is delighted to be partnering with a leading Food & Drink Catalyst to recruit an experienced Innovation Specialist / NPD Technologist. This is a fantastic opportunity for a food industry professional with a passion for product development to support businesses in bringing innovative products to market.

The Role

As an Innovation Specialist / NPD Technologist, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the onsite demonstration and product development kitchens, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards. You will provide expert commercial advice to tenants and customers, assisting with product development, feasibility, and scaling up for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the NPD kitchen, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Maintain records related to NPD and demonstration kitchens.
  • Provide professional support in:
  • Product development & feasibility
  • Recipe formulation & nutritional content
  • Allergens & commercial scale-up
  • Costing & market trends

About You

  • A trained and experienced food industry professional, ideally with a background in a commercial kitchen or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the NPD process, with experience transferring products from development to production.
  • Understanding of plant, processes, and ingredients, with the ability to balance creativity and feasibility.
  • Advanced HACCP and NEBOSH certificates are desirable.
  • Confident in recipe development and customer presentations.
