Job Description
Contracts Manager required in Essex
GVR Solutions currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well established fit out and refurbishment contractor in Essex. They specialise in undertaking construction work in the Commercial and retail sectors.
The Contracts Manager will play a key role as the main point of contact for the client or professional team to ensure all needs are being met. You will also lead the external client’s team and internal team from Preconstruction through to completion.
- Salary up to £80K depending on experience
Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager:
- To correctly interpret the requirements of the client and the professional team.
- To apply and maintain sufficient resourcing in both the pre-construction and construction phases to enable the project to be managed correctly.
- To maintain the same project team from inception to completion.
- To follow standardised management procedures to maintain efficiency and a high level of service.
- To be pro-active in assisting the client and the professional team in the event of change requirements.
- To maintain high levels of quality supervision.
- To complete the project within the client’s budget.
- To complete the project on time or earlier.
- To exceed the expectations of the client and the professional team.
- To complete the project defect free.
- To ensure all construction work is undertaken safely and that all Health & Safety duties and documentation required by statute is fully completed.
- Programme and organise the works assessing critical path activities to complete the whole project on time and to prioritise extra works to maintain a consistent level of service.
- Have responsibility for negotiating and placing orders for sub-contractors and suppliers together with the Commercial Management Personnel, at the same time achieve the most competitive price, quality of service and programme.
- Prepare and present monthly cost value comparisons to show actual expenditure against budget and contribution levels.
- Prepare and agree valuations of work at the intervals stated within the contract and ensure that client payment is made on time in order to achieve good cash flow.
- Prepare and agree final accounts.
