Are you a Retail Designer / 3D Designer / Interior Designer looking for an exciting and unique opportunity to work in Cruise Retail? Can you take concept work all the way through to reality, including building models in SketchUp and creating renders? About the role: You’ll assist the Senior Design Manager in creating highly dynamic and commercial stores onboard cruise ships. The designs will showcase the latest global brands in an innovative retail setting, focused on capturing the customer imagination and aspiration. This will drive guest footfall to maximize sales and optimise the revenue return per SQM. The role is based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis3 days per week along with national/international travel as required. Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 25 days leave annually (including Christmas shutdown). What you’ll be doing: Take a brief and develop a truly aspirational, aesthetically pleasing and functionally designed solution that maximises revenue Design furniture and retail spaces that fulfil the brief within the set budget and constraints, being mindful of the ergonomic elements to all design practices Create designs being respectful of current retail trends and technology Create clear and concise design specifications using InDesign Complete design projects on time to tight deadlines set by the Senior Designer Working with sales data to plan and optimise space on a macro level Establish good communication channels with brands when working on relevant projects Work under pressure in a team environment and under your own initiative, putting in the hours required General administrative work as required About you: Graduate in a design field combined with relevant work experience (ideally in retail design) Highly creative with a keen eye for detail Fully trained in MS office, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign as well as AutoCAD and SketchUp Pro (exposure to Lumion would be highly desirable) Ability to produce technical drawing sets and finished renderings Strong awareness of the current trends and influences in the retail design market would be advantageous Commercially astute, making design decisions to maximise revenue return through innovative design Strong project management skills: organised and punctual, you’ll manage multiple projects concurrently and manage own time working within strict time constraints Good communication skills, able to listen und understand what the brief requires as well as strong presentation skills Must have a full UK driving licence and an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK Key Attributes – trust, collaboration, respect, passion, drive, resilience.
