Job Purpose: Our client has a great opportunity due to a period of growth for an experienced Transport manager to join their business in Rainham where they specialise in reinforcing bar fabrication along with the supply of reinforcement and other steel products. Job Role: Running a fleet of vehicles and being the CPC holder for the business. Manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods while optimising costs. Working alongside the route planner overseeing multi drop deliveries for a mixed fleet of arctic and rigid vehicles. Monitor vehicle utilisation and maintenance schedules to ensure operational efficiency. Management of all RTC’s and incidents involving fleet vehicles. Day to day management of all drivers and route planner including tachograph compliance, working time directives, recruitment and disciplinaries. Manage and maintain current silver FORS. Liaise with the customer in relation to booking times and references also delays and possible issues with deliveries. Full compliance with company policies, standards and legal regulations, Reference Road haulage operations and health and safety at work regulations. Candidate Requirements Fleet Management min of 5 years. Knowledge of driver’s hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation.
