Consultant Stroke Medicine We are now recruiting a Consultant in Stroke Medicine on an NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant contract on an initial 12 month period for an NHS Trust in Buckinghamshire. Our client is an integrated Trust and has recently expanded their Stroke service, and opened a second cath lab whilst maintaining their A grade rating for SSNAP. They have been designated one of eight Accountable Care Systems in the country and named in the top 40 Trusts in the UK. Based in a high performing Stroke Service which has routinely achieved grade A “SSNAP” for the last several years and score among the best in the country for hyper acute domains including thrombolysis. 24/7 Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT) available across partnering sites. Transfer rates for MT is currently 5% and rising. Our client is in the top 10% of Trust nationally for “Door in Door Out times. Main Duties: Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Stroke patients To share with colleagues the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Stroke Service Teaching and training of junior staff To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD) Salary Range: £105,504 to £139,882 a year Essential Criteria: GMC registration Either Consultant level experience or evidenced enough experienced to warrant first Consultant level appointment Min 4 years Stroke Medicine experience Min 7 years post graduate experience Please do not apply if you are a Junior Grade Doctor or do not have adequate experience in Stroke Medicine New Consultants in Stroke are welcome to apply. Specialist GMC registration is not essential however would be beneficial.
