The Company
My client is a luxury Boutique hotel on the outskirts of Cardiff looking for an eager Duty /Function Manager , the location is fantastic, beautiful Wedding venue, and award winning Restaurant.
The Hotel boasts extensive events & weddings packages, able to accommodate large numbers but equally private dining in beautiful surroundings.

The Job
Working as part of the Food & Beverage Management Team, you will contribute to the general running of the C&B operation by implementing the standards in the F&B outlets. Being able to rotate your time between weddings, and general F&B Management then adjust your customer service skills to the Wedding guests.
Duties
- As Function / Duty Manager – assist with the management of staff rotas, utilising both permanent and occasional staff to ensure that optimum staffing levels and experience levels are achieved across the departments.
- Assist the department Managers in managing all events that take place on any busy given day.
- Ensure that all guests are being acknowledged and approached to the 5 star standard of service.
- Champion customer service throughout the departments, regularly reviewing departmental standards and demanding best practice from all staff.
- Assist in resolving all guest complaints in a professional manner, ensuring all queries are passed through to the F&B Manager in a swift and professional manner.
- To be fully knowledgeable and conversant with menus, wine lists, banqueting etiquette etc.
- Ensure that F&B standards comply with all current UK and EEC regulations with regard to the Weights and Measures Act and Trading Standards.
- Be responsible for Closing evenings / events & reconciliations
- Shift patterns 5pm 2am Closing or Duty Manager 10pm 2ams
The Person Specification.
The ideal Duty Manager / Function Manager would come from a Hotel / Wedding background, essential volume experience, maybe contract catering for large venues, or a high turnover branded organisation. The ability to multi task, and have a high time management skill is no:1on my clients specifications.
Hotel or Restaurant background would be ideal, one with multi faceted outlets.
Previous employment history as a Duty Manager in a Hotel environment would be preferable.
Own transport is essential for this position as public transport is not available
